Today, April 21, the PGL Major Antwerp 2022: European RMR B will start - the last qualifying tournament before the major. Over the next four days, the rest of the best teams in Europe and the CIS will compete for a symbolic prize pool of $85,000, as well as eight tickets to PGL Major Antwerp 2022. Format of PGL Major Antwerp 2022: European RMR B

PGL Major Antwerp 2022: European RMR B will be held according to the Swiss system, in which all matches, except for the decisive ones, will be held in the BO1 format. At the same time, the meetings that decide the tournament fate of the teams will be held in the BO3 format. To determine pairs from the 3rd to 5th rounds, as well as the final distribution of places, the Buchholz system, which has already been used at PGL Major Stockholm 2021, will be used.

Teams that take places from 1st to 3rd will receive Legend status. The teams ranked from the 4th to the 7th lines will receive the Challenger status. At the same time, the eighth team of the championship will receive the status of Contender. The remaining teams will miss PGL Major Antwerp 2022.

Recall that PGL has made changes to the format of the event. In light of the latest changes, the organizers have added an extra match between two teams from the "3-1" pot. In other words, the two teams that received the highest Buchholz odds will compete for the right to take 3rd place at the end of PGL Major Antwerp 2022: European RMR B.

Sixteen teams from Europe and the CIS will take part in the championship. Moreover, seven of them received direct invitations based on the results of PGL Major Stockholm 2021, while the remaining half of the participants were determined based on the results of open qualifiers.
