The G2 Esports team beat Virtus.pro with a score of 2:0 and will now play with NAVI in the IEM Katowice 2022 semi-finals. We share our impressions about the first quarter-final of the championship game day.

The fight started on the Mirage map, which became the choice of G2 Esports. At the same time, the Russian team quickly seized the initiative, having managed to finish the first half with a comfortable advantage — 9:6. After the change of sides, the “owners” managed to wake up, returning the intrigue to the map. As a result, the teams continued to trade in a series of rounds, safely going to overtime. Here, the teams gave the fans a fierce fight, the final of which was left to the players of G2 Esports — 25:22.

A separate word deserves m0NESY, who not only became the best player on the Mirage map, but also gave the team a victory by making the most important frags in the final round in a 2 vs 5 situation.

Everything was decided on the Ancient map, which became the choice of the Russian team. However, the players of G2 Esports, inspired by the victory at their own peak, managed to suppress the opponent's attack, finishing the half with a score of 12:3. In the second half, the European team continued to tear things up, managing to quickly resolve all issues and make it to the championship semi-finals — 16:5.
