The North American team Complexity refused to take part in IEM Katowice 2022. It is reported that several cases of coronavirus infection were detected in the camp of the team, which is why the club's management decided to refuse to travel to the event. The team's place in the championship will be taken by Movistar Riders, which are on the next line in the ESL Pro Tour ranking.

The day before, Complexity finished its performance at the ESL Challenger February 2022, taking 3rd-4th place after losing to Virtus.pro in the semi-finals of the tournament. At the same time, the team has qualifications for the North American RMR tournament, as well as ESL Pro League Season 15, which will be held in March.

Movistar Riders will start their journey at IEM Katowice 2022 against BIG. In case of victory over the German team, the team will meet the winner of the pair Astralis - MIBR, winning a ticket to the group stage of the event.

Recall that earlier ESL has already made changes in the composition of the participants of IEM Katowice 2022, inviting Sprout to the championship. The Danish-German team replaced TYLOO, who were unable to attend the event due to restrictions due to the coronavirus pandemic.

So far, several positive test results for coronavirus have been identified among the participants of the championship. In particular, ropz from FaZe Clan will miss the start of IEM Katowice 2022, while MOUZ will have to perform with JDC, which will replace Bymas in the roster.
