FaZe Clan reached the final of the Play‑In stage at BLAST Premier Spring Groups 2022

Group C of BLAST Premier Spring Groups 2022 has come to an end, as a result of which the FaZe Clan team won the grand final of the quartet and advanced to the final of the Play‑In stage. We offer to recall the highlights of the game day and talk about the fate of the teams in the next stage of the championship.

Let's start with the leader, who unexpectedly became the FaZe Clan team. At the same time, even at the start of the group stage, the team with great difficulty outplayed Team Liquid on the Inferno map (19:15), having made an unbearable comeback. However, half an hour later, FaZe Clan gave up the initiative to the opponent, losing the victory on Inferno in the game against Vitality (15:19). In the lower bracket, the team again met with Team Liquid on the same Inferno map, returning again during the series and taking away an important victory (19:17). Well, in the grand final of group C, the team beat Vitality without a chance on Overpass (16:10), ending the torment of the audience with endless reflection.

Until the final, the Vitality team was considered the main favorite for a place under the sun. The Danish-French team started briskly within BLAST Premier Spring Groups 2022, not noticing Evil Geniuses on the Inferno map (16:3). An hour later, the team built on their success by taking the toughest victory over FaZe Clan on Inferno (19:15). However, in the grand final of the quartet, Vitality failed to cope with FaZe Clan on the Overpass map (10:16), limiting itself to only third place.

Among the disappointments, two teams should be singled out at once: Evil Geniuses and Team Liquid. The former generally approached the championship in terrible shape, first losing to Vitality on Inferno (3:16), and then giving the victory in the derby against Team Liquid on the Inferno map (17:19). At the same time, Team Liquid had three intense games on the Inferno map, two of which were lost in overtime by FaZe Clan. And only in a face-to-face duel with Evil Geniuses did the team manage to please the fans, securing themselves from fourth place in group C.

In the next stage of the championship, the Evil Geniuses team will play with BIG, while Team Liquid will face NAVI. Well, FaZe Clan and Vitality will start their journey from the semifinals and grand finals of the Play-In stage, respectively.

BLAST Premier Spring Groups 2022 runs from January 28 to February 6 online. 12 league partner teams are competing for a prize pool of $177,500, as well as six tickets to BLAST Premier: Spring Finals 2022.
