PGL Major Stockholm 2021: Entropiq and Virtus.pro reached the Legends stage

The starting matches of the fourth round of the PGL Major Stockholm 2021 Challengers Stage have ended, following which Entropiq and Virtus.pro reached the Legends stage. In turn, the Heroic and Spirit teams go to the final round of the Challengers stage, where they will compete for the remaining three tickets to the next stage of the championship.

Virtus.pro - Spirit

The derby of the CIS teams quite expectedly began on the map Inferno, which turned out to be VP's choice. At the same time, quite expectedly, the "bears" seized the initiative, over and over again breaking through the opponent's defense. But if Spirit still tried to fight in defense, then after the change of sides the team swam without being able to catch hold of the rounds. As a result, Virtus.pro recorded a landslide victory on its own pick and took the lead in the series - 16:7.

Ancient began with an overwhelming advantage for Virtus.pro, which began to fade towards the end of the first half. At the same time, in the attack, the "bears" did not come up with a way to hack the opponent's defense, thereby giving an easy comeback. But Spirit showed real character, having managed to scratch out a victory on her choice - 16:12.

The desider of the meeting was the Overpass map, the first half of which ended with a minimum advantage of Spirit - 8:7. After the successful start of the "dragons" in the attack, it might have seemed that VP's song had been sung. However, the strong-willed comeback of Jame and the company allowed them to enter overtimes, where Virtus.pro's players turned out to be stronger - 19:15.

Heroic - Entropiq

An intriguing duel started on the Ancient map, which became the choice of the Russian team. And if in the attack Entropiq was still trying to fight, then after the change of sides the team did not manage to cope with the cunning attack from the opponent. As a result, Heroic secured a convincing victory on the enemy pick and took the lead in the series - 16:10.

On the Nuke map, nothing foreshadowed trouble for the favorite, just as the first half ended with a minimal, but still Heroic advantage. However, after the changeover, Entropiq turned on at full power, demonstrating all the flexibility of the rounds in attack. The Danes were completely unprepared for this, as they went to save their devices almost every round. Ultimately, a series of successful decisions from Entropiq allowed the team to make the first sensation, defeating Heroic on her own choice - 16:14.

Everything was decided on the Mirage map, which started with a relatively equal fight. But at some point, the Danish team made a swim, not only losing a series of rounds in defense, but also failing to get together in the second half. As a result, a clean play from Entropiq allowed the team to close the streak in their favor, and at the same time reach the Legends stage - 16:4.

PGL Major Stockholm 2021 runs from October 26 to November 7 in Sweden. 24 teams are competing for a prize pool of $ 2,000,000, as well as BLAST Premier and ESL Pro Tour points. The championship playoffs will take place at the Avicii Arena with spectators, while the early stages of the championship take place in a studio format.
