Gen.G Defeat PSG Talon at Worlds 2025 Swiss Stage Round 1

The final match of Day 1 at the Worlds 2025 Swiss Stage featured Gen.G facing PSG Talon. For PSG Talon, it was one of the toughest challenges of their career — going up against the strongest team in the world right now. So, let’s see how it all unfolded.

Game 1 Picks:

  • Gen.G: Ambessa, Wukong, Galio, Lucian, Braum
  • PSG Talon: Rumble, Vi, Swain, Sivir, Rell

The first thing worth highlighting is PSG Talon ’s smart decision to pick Swain. Against Gen.G ’s composition, where everyone wants to engage up close, it was an excellent choice. And at first, it worked — but there’s a reason Gen.G are considered the best team in the world right now. They started spreading PSG Talon across the map, creating space for Ruler to farm safely.

After the fight around Atahan, where Vi managed to steal from Gen.G but PSG still lost the teamfight, things began to spiral downward. Swain could no longer withstand the incoming damage, and Sivir was still too weak to break through Gen.G’s frontline. In the end, Gen.G confidently closed out the match, crashing down on Talon like an avalanche.

A strong first victory at the Worlds 2025 Swiss Stage for Gen.G, and the first loss for PSG Talon.
