
Worlds 2025 Dates and Host Cities Revealed
Riot Games has officially announced the schedule and venues for the League of Legends World Championship 2025, which will once again be held in China. The tournament kicks off on October 14 and concludes with the Grand Final on November 9. Here are the key details:
- The Play-In Stage (October 14) and Swiss Stage (October 15–25) will take place at the Beijing Smart Esports Center in Beijing. Teams will battle for Playoff spots starting with best-of-3 series and concluding with decisive best-of-5s.
- The Playoffs (October 28 – November 2) will be held at the Mercedes-Benz Arena in Shanghai — an iconic venue that previously hosted the 2020 World Championship.
- The Grand Final (November 9) will take place at the Dong'an Lake Sports Park Multifunctional Gymnasium in Chengdu, where the next world champion will be crowned.
A total of 17 teams will compete at Worlds 2025, distributed as follows:
- LCK (Korea) — 4 slots
- LPL (China) — 4 slots
- LEC (EMEA) — 3 slots
- LTA (Americas) — 3 slots
- LCP (Pacific) — 3 slots
Following an incredible performance in the group stage, Gen.G became the first team to officially qualify for Worlds 2025.
The tournament will feature three phases: Play-In, Swiss Stage, and a Single-Elimination Playoff Bracket. The winner of the Mid-Season Invitational 2025 will automatically advance to the Playoffs, while other teams will be seeded based on regional strength and performance.
The prize pool for Worlds 2025 is set at $5,000,000 USD, with additional revenue generated through the sale of in-game content tied to the event.
