Gen.G Secure Worlds 2025 Spot After Dominant Win Over Hanwha Life Esports
Gen.G continue their record-breaking run in the LCK Summer Split 2025. In Round 3 Week 10, the reigning MSI champions secured a confident victory over Hanwha Life Esports, extending their undefeated split record to an astonishing 19-0. With this win, Gen.G have officially locked in a Playoff berth and, as a result, become the first team to qualify for the League of Legends World Championship 2025.
Technically, Gen.G had already earned a Worlds slot by winning the Mid-Season Invitational 2025. However, under the new rules introduced by Riot Games, even the MSI winner must advance to the Playoffs of their regional Summer Split to validate their qualification. With today’s result, that final requirement has now been fulfilled.
Currently, Gen.G are on a flawless 27-0 run in official matches this summer — an extraordinary feat that showcases their dominance. The team is in phenomenal form and is widely regarded as the top contender not only in the LCK but also at the upcoming World Championship 2025, set to take place in October.
