Gen.G Extend Their Unbeaten Run with Win Over HLE
LCK 2025 continues with the Summer Split, moving into Rounds 3–5. Today, we had one of the most anticipated matches: Gen.G vs Hanwha Life Esports. Gen.G currently hold a flawless 18–0 record, while HLE sit in second place with a 14–4 scoreline.
Game 1 Picks:
- Hanwha Life Esports: Gwen, Xin Zhao, Ryze, Jhin, Neeko
- Gen.G: Aurora, Wukong, Annie, Senna, Alistar
Game 2 Picks:
- Hanwha Life Esports: Ambessa, Sejuani, Taliyah, Lucian, Braum
- Gen.G: K`Sante, Jarvan IV, Azir, Corki, Rell
The first game started off slowly, with most of the early action limited to minor trades on the bot lane. But around the 10-minute mark, both teams began to rotate and play more aggressively across the map. Gen.G showcased disciplined team coordination and impressive individual mechanics. They grouped up efficiently, secured objectives through well-executed fights, and maintained control throughout. Meanwhile, HLE struggled to execute plays — even 4v1 attempts ended with them failing to secure the kill and losing a player in return. All of this led to a dominant Game 1 victory for Gen.G.
Game 2 was much closer — right up until the end, it was impossible to predict who would come out on top. But once the match entered the late game, K'Sante became nearly unkillable, absorbing massive amounts of damage, abilities, and ultimates while still surviving. At the same time, Ruler on Corki delivered devastating damage from perfect positioning. HLE simply couldn’t handle the pressure, and the tight game ended with a win for Gen.G — capped off by a pentakill from Ruler.
With this victory, Gen.G extend their winning streak in the LCK, now holding a 19–0 record in the group stage and marking their 27th consecutive tournament win without a single loss. Hanwha Life Esports remain in second place with a 14–5 record.

LCK Summer 2025 Round 3–5 will run from July 23 to August 31. This stage will determine which teams qualify directly for the LCK Playoffs and which ones will have to go through the Play-In phase.
