LCS Spring 2023 kicks off today: everything you need to know about the main championship in North America
8810The professional League of Legends is gaining momentum. Following China (LPL), Korea (LCK) and Europe (LEC), the last league of the "big four" starts - the North American LCS.
LCS Spring 2023 will bring together the top 10 teams in the region in one place. They will compete for valuable prizes, among which, in addition to cash rewards, there are two tickets to the first international event of the season.

LCS Spring 2023 format
The LCS Spring 2023 spring split will be held in two stages: the group stage and the playoffs. All 10 LCS participants will play in the initial stage.
Group stage LCS Spring 2023: each team plays 18 matches (two rounds of 9 games) in bo1 format. The first 6 teams go to the playoffs - the clubs from the TOP-4 directly get into the semi-finals, the 5th and 6th places start the main stage from the first round of losers.
Playoffs LCS Spring 2023: teams qualifying for the playoffs will start the main stage depending on the seeding determined after the group stage. The main event is a Double-Elimination system with bo5 matches.
Based on the results of LCS Spring 2023, two teams advance to the Mid-Season Invitational. The second place in the league goes to the Play-In, and the champion goes to the group stage.
LCS Spring 2023 Prize Pool
At LCS Spring 2023, a dozen teams will compete for a $200,000 prize pool. An additional reward will be two tickets to the Mid-Season Invitational 2023.
Distribution of prizes LCS Spring 2023
- 1st place - $100,000 + ticket to the group stage of the Mid-Season Invitational 2023
- 2nd place - $50,000 + ticket to the Play-In Mid-Season Invitational 2023
- 3rd place - $30,000
- 4th place - $20,000
In addition, MVP titles will be awarded as standard for the series. The most valuable player will be selected separately in the group stage and separately in the playoffs.
Date and location of LCS Spring 2023
LCS Spring 2023 will be held from January 26 to March 17 this year. All matches will be played on LAN and the venue will be the LCS Studio, located at NRG Stadium in Los Angeles.
Each week the games will take place on Thursdays and Fridays starting at 23:00 CET and 5 consecutive matches. The exception will be weeks 4 and 8 - then LCS will be broadcast on Wednesdays as well.
