LPL Summer 2022: first week digest
lieWarm greetings to all eSports lovers! In this article, I will collect all the most basic and interesting information about the results of today's continental league and, accordingly, League of Legends Summer Split 2022. And if you didn't have time to watch the games yourself, this is a good opportunity to learn about the details quickly and in detail!
Summer, like any other splits, traditionally opened China instead of with its LPL Summer 2022. This is due to the fact that China is much larger than other regions in terms of the number of teams, as many as 17, when the standard is 10. And, accordingly, the group stage should be carried out faster.
The first competitive week of the summer split from the Middle Kingdom started on Friday and took only three remaining days, and therefore became the most meek and calm compared to the rest of the period before the playoffs.
Today was the final day of this week, during which we saw two wonderful and spectacular meetings between Ultra Prime and Oh My God with a score of 2:0 and LNG Esports with Bilibili Gaming with a score of 2:1. In both matches there were interesting and worthy moments, which I will analyze a little further. And here is the positioning of the teams, according to the results of the first three days. Quite unexpected, but temporary result:
Anyone's Legend | 2:0 | +2 |
Ultra Prime | 2:0 | +2 |
Edward Gaming | 2:1 | +1 |
J.D. Gaming | 2:1 | +1 |
LNG Esports | 2:1 | +1 |
Weibo Gaming | 2:1 | +1 |
Bilibili Gaming | 1:2 | -1 |
Fun Plus Phoenix | 1:2 | -1 |
Invictus Gaming | 1:2 | -1 |
Top Esports | 1:2 | -1 |
Oh My God | 0:2 | -2 |
Rare Atom | 0:2 | -2 |
Today's events
In the first match today, Ultra Prime and Oh My God met each other. To say that OMG were stronger than their opponents is a lie. The teams were on absolutely the same level, but the majority still believed in the latter. But that didn't stop UP from imposing on them their absolutely absurdly aggressive and edgy game that we're not used to seeing in esports. The constant action, kills and fight attempts that Ultra Prime excels at. The pairing of mid-laner Cryin and jungler Zoom will be a dream for the OMG team for a long time to come.
But for the second match of the day, it was immediately clear: a hot and close battle awaits us. After all, both teams, LNG and BLG, proved their strength at the spring split. And so it turned out, a very tight and well-considered struggle for supremacy on three maps. However, it is impossible not to single out Doinb. The star mid player from the champion FPX turned over the first map and strangled the third one, which objectively earned him the title of MVP of the day.
Champion stats
The most picked champions since day one are Viego (12 games) and Vuknog (10 games). They are slightly behind Ezreal (8 games) and Ari (7 games).
There is a very stable dynamics in bans, about the same as the pick rates of the Fallen King and the Monkey King. The top champions by the number of bans are opened by Gwen (12 bans), followed by Lucian (11 bans). Moreover, if at least one of these heroes did not have time to ban, they were taken into the draft with 100% so far. In third place is Thalia (10 bans), which Lissandra managed to catch up with today (also 10 bans).
