PCS Spring 2022 Begins - Oceania's Spring Split

Add as a Preferred Source

Today, February 11, the League of Legends A-tier tournament: PCS Spring 2022 starts in Oceania. The tournament is organized by Riot Games, Carry and Garena, and the total prize pool is $80,000 USD.

Exactly a month ago, three spring splits started in the largest gaming regions: China with LPL Spring 2022, Korea with LCK Spring 2022 and Europe with LEC Spring 2022. During this time, we have already completed almost 4 gaming weeks.

Prize money

Ten teams from Taiwan, Hong Kong and South Asia will share the $80,000 USD prize pool, and what's more, the winner will have the opportunity to compete in an international tournament held between splits.

  • 1st place: $30,000 and a spot at the Mid-Season Invitational 2022.
  • 2nd place: $14,000
  • 3rd place: $10,000
  • 4th place: $7,000
  • 5th-6th place: $4,500
  • 7th-8th place: $3,000.
  • 9th place: $2,000
  • 10th place: $2,000

Tournament Rules and Procedure

In this split, we will see the already familiar, traditional group stage, during which each of the teams will play 18 matches. All matches will be in the Bo1 format, exactly the same as at the European LEC Spring 2022.

According to the results of the groups: the two best teams will immediately take places in the semi-finals, teams from 3rd to 6th places will advance to the quarterfinals, 7th and 8th places will advance to the first round of the losers bracket. Then it's time for the playoffs. And the two teams with the least points will leave PCS Spring 2022.

The group stage will take 6 in-game weeks and run from February 11 to March 19. Then it's time for the playoffs.

In the playoffs, all matches will be in the bo5 format, with the exception of the first round of the losers bracket and the quarterfinals. The quarter-finals and the first round of the lower bracket will play in Bo3.
