Digest: first week of LEC Spring 2022
lieFast forward from Asia to Europe, where yesterday ended the 3rd and last day of the first week of the main League of Legends event – the LEC Spring 2022 split.
Unlike China and Korea, the games started only three days ago, but they were quite tight and dynamic: 5 matches a day in Bo1 format.
Unlike LPL and LCK, even the work on their official Twitter page looks more modest. While others were posting everything with nice graphics and MVP/POG lists, LEC got by with just a text version of the table for the first week.
To be honest, the results did not surprise anyone. At the top of the list are top teams that have strengthened their rosters since the previous year, which gave such a result. For example, like Rouge and Fnatic.
The "Great Annual Reshuffle" really hit a lot of teams this time, like G2. The guys from G2 Esports have been steadily dominating the European League of Legends pro scene since 2015, rarely changing their main roster. But the notorious departure of Rekkles from the position of ADK and Wunder from the top lane, as we see, has consequences. Now the team looks weaker than previous seasons.
What can not be said about MAD Lions. Personally, in my eyes, the new roster looks incredibly strong and ambitious. They were also not weakly touched by the reshuffle and, for the first time in two years, they changed two of their players at once.
By the way, if we talk about the MVP of the first week of the LEC, I would seriously think about the candidacy of the bot- lanerMAD Lions Unf0 rgiven.
