Match Prediction: Team Secret - OG | Dota 2

The first week of DPC 2023 has officially kicked off. January 9 watched the debut matches and now it's time to move on to the second day of the race.

Team Secret and OG will open the new matchday. Both clubs have already experienced the delights of the new year and managed to make their debut at the DPC 2023.

Let's start the analysis of the match with the Team Secret kit. They will play as favorites in this match. The bookmakers give Puppey and the company odds around 1.8 to win. It's hard to call it an advantage.

In fact, we have a duel between two absolutely equal teams. Before the start of the season, it was difficult to bring these teams together, but now it is much easier to do it.

Secret got a break after joining Zayac and Resolut1on. The team had a good Riyadh Master and ESL One Malaysia, after which they took 2nd place in the Western European qualifiers for The International 2022.

At The International 2022, Team Secret revived and it paid off. The team reached the final of the upper bracket of the playoffs, after which they flew down, but not for long.

Having beaten Liquid in the small final with a score of 2-1, the team made it to the grand final. The last match of the last season ended sadly for Secret: 0-3 from Tundra Esports.

The start of the DPC was quite a dramatic event for the Puppey team. The team played against Team Liquid with the Pole Nisha in the roster. As a result of the first series, Secret were declassed and lost with a score of 0-2.

Team Secret Heroes

Their most common spawns were Tusk (7 matches, 85% wins), Witch Doctor (5 matches, 80; wins), Monkey King (5 matches, 60% wins), Pangolier (4 matches, 50% wins), Death Prophet (4 matches, 50% win rate).

Form OG

We continue the review with consideration of the OG form. The team will approach the match in the status of a catch-up.

The gap with their counterparts in terms of coefficients is actually imperceptible. OG is given about 1.9 to win.

The pre-match balance of power was influenced by the performance in the first series at the DPC and, of course, the reshuffle held before the start of the season.

OG, like Secret, made a spot change and, by analogy with the Puppey team, this change became a key one. OG were forced to say goodbye to their headliner.

DM replaced ATF in third position. The latter was the powerhouse of OG, although there were some difficulties through this.

Ammar played his own DotA and was too independent. It seemed that DM's transition should put an end to the problem of "tugging" the blanket, but in the first game against Tundra, it cannot be said that the replacement did OG in favor.

OG Performance

Last season, the surviving backbone of OG managed to prove itself both in the regional league and beyond. OG took TOP-4 at DPC WEU 2021/2022 Tour 1: Division 1, 3rd at DPC WEU 2021/2022 Tour 1: Regional Final.

In the second round, Misha's team won the DPC WEU 2021/2022 Tour 2: Division 1, after which they played at ESL One Stockholm, the first major of OG's new look.

In Sweden, the young generation of the club of the two-time world champion showed the pinnacle of playing skills, taking the TOP-1. After that, the performance dropped a little.

The team took TOP-3 at DPC WEU 2021/2022 Tour 3: DIvision 1, Riyadh Masters 2022, 4th place at PGL Arlington Major 2022 season 2, and then won ESL One Malaysia.

OG went to The International 2022 as the first team in Europe, but they turned out to be almost the last. The team reached the TOP-8, which was a good result. However, Puppey has it better.

In the new season, OG made their debut in a match against the reigning world champions. Tundra, thanks to their playstyle and all sorts of DKs and Beastmasters, outplayed OG quite easily with a score of 2-0.

In the first match, the DPCs tried to use a broken Riki and also picked an Elder Titan. There was no success.

History of personal confrontations

Before DPC 2023, they played within the framework of the last season, but after the cardinal changes in the lineups, they did not meet. In the new season, this will be the first confrontation between the teams.

Match outcome

In the case of OG and Team Secret, I am in solidarity with the bookmakers as much as possible. It is extremely difficult to choose a winner.

Given the ease with which both teams lost the first matches, we can assume that the debut of the teams within the framework of DPC 2023 will take place here. However, this will not help to get rid of the dilemma.

I would recommend +2.5 total here. I don't see why one of the teams outplays the other. Secret will have an advantage in the hardlane, if they don't pick Miran for Reso, bzm will win mid from Boom, and therefore Crystallis will take the reins, on whose play the overall result will depend, as for me.
