Biography fng
Artem «fng» Barshak is a professional Dota 2 player of Belarusian descent. Artem is one of the most experienced players-captains in CIS who managed to visit almost all prestigious organizations in the region. We present to your attention fng’s path to becoming an esportsman.
The beginning of the career
Fng had started his path to the top of the esports Olympus way before his arrival to a professional organization. Like the majority of players, he has been fond of video games since his early years, spending a lot of spare time playing them. As a result, it helped him to build a pretty successful career.
The Belarus team Power Rangers was the first big club for fng. Fng spent a year in PR, from August 2013 to August 2014. While fng was playing for PR, the team was signed by the organization ICCup. Fng did not achieve significant results with ICCup, however, he managed to expose himself on the professional scene and made a statement.
In August 2014 after the failure at TI4, Natus Vincere invited fng to the organization as a captain. Having played only three months in NaVi, fng prevailed at Dota 2 Champions League Season 4 with the team, after which he moved to Virtus.pro Polar in November 2014, which became ASUS.Polar as a result.
VP and Asus.Polar
The period of playing for VP was pretty successful.- Fng’s team achieved victory at DreamLeague Season 3, Esportal Dota 2 League, and also performed confidently at The International 2015, having sensationally eliminated Team Secret, one of the favorites of the whole championship, from the tournament. The team placed 5th-6th at TI5, which is the best result in the history of the tag.
However, the results became worse after that. The team held the 7th-8th place at The Frankfurt Major 2015 in November 2015 and the 9th-12th at The Shanghai Major in March 2016. The remarkable thing is that the team lost to OG at both championships. The qualifiers to The International 2016 were the last tournament for fng in VP where the team was eliminated from the 6th-10th place.
Finding himself
Vega Squadron was the next club for fng. Artem joined the roster in August 2016 and spent only three months there. During this time, he managed to place second at FACEIT Invitational and 6th at DreamLeague Season 6 League Play.
After Vega Squadron, fng was a player in Team Spirit. The player prevailed at OverPower Cup #1, WellPlay Invitational #7, Almeo Esports Cup, playing for Team Spirit.
The team held the 7th-9th place at ESL One Birmingham 2018 in May 2018 and failed China Dota2 Supermajor in June, having placed 13th-16th. Later, the team won a couple of tier-3 tournaments, after which fng moved to Gambit Esports.
Gambit Esports
Having become a player of Gambit Esports in December 2018, the team won a large tournament immediately – WePlay! Dota 2 Winter Madness.
The team held the 2nd place at The Bucharest Minor in January 2019 and won WePlay! Dota 2 Valentine Madness a month later. The team held another second place at the Minor tournament in March. The team was not able to beat ViCi in the final of StarLadder ImbaTV Dota 2 Minor Season 1. Despite the very good season of 2019 for fng, he was not able to qualify for the main tournament of the year, having stopped one step away from a direct invite and lost the qualification.
However, this did not destroy fng’s morale and he continued playing for Gambit. The team held the 3rd place at ONE Esports Dota 2 World Pro Invitational Singapore in December 2019 and stopped at the 4th place at WePlay! Bukovel Minor 2020 in January. Later, the team placed 3rd at StarLadder ImbaTV Dota 2 Minor Season, after which it failed at ESL One Los Angeles 2020 – Online: Europe & CIS. This tournament was the last one for fng on the roster of Gambit.
Alliance and personal achievements
Artem moved to Alliance in May 2020. It was almost for the first time in his career when he changed a captain slot, which brought its results. With the new team, fng managed to place 5th-6th at WePlay! Pushka League S1: Division 1, 3rd-4th at Gamers Without Borders 2020, 5th-6th at OGA Dota PIT 2020 Online: Europe/CIS, 2nd at ESL One Birmingham 2020 – Online: Europe & CIS, 2nd at OGA Dota PIT S2: Europe/CIS, 4th at OMEGA League: Europe Immortal Division, and held the 3rd place at OGA Dota PIT S3: Europe/CIS.
Fng has already earned more than 582,000 dollars of prize money in his career.
