The review of Games Clash Masters 2019

The teams, which have performed by expectations

DreamEaters

According to the world rate, DreamEaters was the second strongest team at the tournament after FURIA Esports. If you have a look at odds at Games Clash Masters 2019 in bookmaker companies, you can notice that DE could have been called one of the outsiders to win. Despite this, the Russians played way worse than they had been expected and worse than they had been able to. The team beat Syman Gaming and lost matches to Sprout and Aristocracy in the group stage. As a result, the team placed 5th-6th and earned a money prize in the sum of $3,000.

BIG

BIG placed 22nd on the list of the best CS:GO teams by HLTV before the championship. Only DreamEaters and FURIA were higher than them. Despite BIG seemingly had chances to win, the Germans didn’t realize them predictably. The German roster beat the main outsider in the face of AGO but was not able to oppose the favorite in the face of FURIA. In our review, we considered the option that BIG would hold the 3rd-4th place in the best case but the Germans didn’t even make it to the top four, having placed 5th-6th in the standings.

FURIA Esports

The Brazilian team performed well. Despite it was our (and not only our) favorite to win and didn’t prevail at the tournament, advancement to the playoffs reflects that FURIA had prepared for the tournament. FURIA opposed to their opponents from Sprout well in the playoffs but as a result, lost in the semi-final and finished their participation on the 3rd-4th place in the standings. Considering the level of teams, with which they were fighting three months ago, Game Clash Masters 2019 is a failed tournament for FURIA. arT with his teammates earned a $10,000 money reward for their efforts.

Aristocracy

Wiktor ‘TaZ’ Wojtas’ team has a difficult time in its career and hasn’t been able to get an optimal gaming shape for a long time. The team placed 41st in the world rate before the start of the tournament and didn’t promise to win. We stated in the case of the major part of the team that the 3rd-4th place is maximum but we almost were sure that the Poles would get to this position. In the group stage, Aristocracy didn’t achieve victory over Sprout but defeated Syman and DreamEaters. They had to play against Illuminar Gaming in the playoffs. Having shown decent resistance, the Polish team lost to Illuminar and placed 3rd-4th. TaZ and his teammates earned $10,000 for their efforts.

Syman Gaming

It was unknown what t expect from Syman. The team stated at the Major tournament but like the majority of the teams, which stand out at such events, Syman showed that they were not that strong as it might seem at first glance. They faced DreamEaters and Aristocracy in the group stage. As a result, they lost both matches and held the last place both in their group and in the standings. Syman earned a consolation prize of $2,000.

AGO

Some changes have recently been made on the roster of AGO and the position of the Polish team in the world is 167. Due to this, the participant was the main outsider and there is nothing surprising in the fact that AGO placed 7th-8th in the standings. The team played against Illuminar Gaming and BIG and didn’t win a map. Finally, AGO earned a consolation prize of $2,000 and was the first to leave the competition.

The participants, which have surprised with their performance

Sprout

Sprout had made a replacement on their rosters in three weeks before the beginning of the tournament: mirbit had left Sprout and denis held his position. This time was enough for the Germans to prepare well for the tournament. Sprout played with Aristocracy and DreamEaters, having defeated both of them without special efforts. They faced one of the most serious opponents in the semi-final, FURIA. The match was tough but Sprout prevailed over the Brazilians with a score 2-1. They fought with Illuminar Gaming in the final and lost with a score 0-3. The German roster managed to surprise us well and held the second place, the players earned a money reward in the sum of $20,000 for their work.

Illuminar Gaming

The players from Illuminar Gaming have obviously become the main discovery of Games Clash Masters 2019. The team placed 69 in the world rate before the start of the tournament and had a bit bigger chances to win than AGO, according to bookmakers. As a result, Illuminar gained such great power at the tournament that it was very difficult to stop them in the final stage and the final, in particular.

The Poles defeated their countrymen from AGO in the group stage and prevailed over FURIA Esports. They competed well with another Polish team, Aristocracy, in the semi-final and beat them with a score 2-1. The final against Sprout was not very interesting. Despite the battle was tough, all three maps were over with a score 16-13, 16-12, and 16-14 but we watched only three maps, not four or five. This fact reflects a nice preparation for the championship by Illuminar. After the Poles beat FURIA, the team was finishing the tournament in a rush and after the victory over Aristocracy, they were almost sure in their victory at the championship, which gave them power. The nice performance, high morale and the efforts made allowed Illuminar to make it to the top of the standings and earn the main money prize in the sum of $50,000.
