Gambit continues to lead in ESL Pro League Season 14

Add as a Preferred Source

The second round of Group D within ESL Pro League Season 14 has come to an end. According to the results of three matches of the playing day, the Gambit team made it to the leaders of the standings, gaining six points out of six possible. At the same time, the closest pursuers made mistakes one way or another, having three points each. But we propose to talk about all the adventures of the second game day separately.

FURIA - Team One

Opening the game day turned out to be two Brazilian teams, which, without realizing it, spun an excellent derby. Already on the first map, we looked for knives, frenzied rounds and misses from a whole horn. However, the lurch at the start of the fight was observed in favor of FURIA, which, despite the presence of a coach, was obliged to deal with such an opponent.

Nevertheless, on the Mirage map, the teams could not designate a favorite for a long time, constantly exchanging rounds. And this is a perfectly logical scenario, given the nature of the teams playing. Another thing is that sooner or later this should have happened, and FURIA took the initiative and reduced the score in their favor - 16:14.

There was even more intrigue on the Inferno map, as this time the Brazilians spent two overtime series. Despite the obvious desire of Team One to win at least something, FURIA was adamant in her actions - 22:19.

NIP - Entropiq

The next match looked much more fun, in which it was interesting to watch the possible failure of the Swedish team. In addition, Entropiq approached the meeting in the status of one of the leaders of the standings, clearly wanting to compete with an experienced opponent.

The start on the Dust 2 map was a success, as the Russian team won the first half with an acceptable advantage, compiling dreams of playing in defense. The tale quickly ended, however, as the NIP not only took control of the initiative, but also won the starting streak of rounds by galloping forward. Of course Entropiq tried to fight, almost bringing things to overtime, but still the final victory went to the Swedes - 16:14.

At some point, it seemed that on the Ancient map there would be a return from the Russian team, which also started in defense. However, after a series of starting rounds, the Swedes quickly returned to the game, having managed to win the first half with a minimal advantage. After such a confident start, it was obvious that the guys from NIP would not miss theirs. As a result, Entropiq was enough for only two rounds in the attack to record the victory of the Swedish team - 16: 9.

Gambit - Liquid

Well, at the end of the game day we were presented with a fascinating show, in which the main characters were the players Gambit and Liquid. And if first this championship is not needed from the word "absolutely", then the North American team needs blood from the nose to gain points and go to the playoffs, so as not to generate new rumors about personnel changes.

The game itself began on Inferno, which was so expectedly picked by the Liquid team. From the master's shoulder, the North Americans presented the Russian team with six rand in each half, recording the final victory - 16:12.

The situation at Vertigo was much more interesting in terms of fighting. The starting advantage was observed with the guys from Liquid, who at some point could make the score indecent. But then sh1ro got involved, giving his team not only several important rounds, but also restored confidence. As a result, the Russian team managed to close the gap in order to roll forward immediately after the change of sides. However, this was not enough to protect oneself from a series of overtimes, in which the Gambit team still turned out to be stronger - 19:16.

The decisive map was Mirage, where it all started with the advantage of the North American team. Plus, right after the switch-over, Liquid took three more rounds to make a solid claim to win. However, Gambit had a different opinion on this matter, deciding to issue a streak of ten rounds, which turned out to be victorious - 16:12.

In the afternoon, it's worth looking at Entropiq's next toughness test, which will play against Liquid. Well, in the evening Gambit will try to strengthen its position by playing with FURIA.
