Falcons eliminate Liquid in the quarterfinals and advance to the semifinals of BLAST Bounty 2026 Season 1 Finals
The quarterfinal stage of BLAST Bounty 2026 Season 1 Finals delivered an intense showdown between Liquid and Falcons. Despite roster issues and the absence of a coach, Falcons looked composed and confident, imposed their own pace on the game, and ultimately knocked Liquid out of the tournament to secure a spot in the semifinals.
Quarterfinal map veto:
- Liquid removed Inferno
- Falcons removed Ancient
- Liquid picked Nuke
- Falcons picked Dust2
- Liquid removed Overpass
- Falcons removed Mirage
- Anubis was left over
Nuke (14:16 Falcons)
The match kicked off on Nuke, where the first half was very evenly contested. Both teams traded rounds and finished the half tied. In the second half, Falcons managed to reach match point, but Liquid found the strength to push the game into overtime, where they eventually fell 14:16.
Dust2 (8:13 Falcons)
Falcons dominated most of the action on Dust2. Despite a decent start from Liquid, who won the first two rounds, Falcons completely controlled the game on the attacking side and closed the first half with a convincing 9:3 lead. After switching to the T side, Liquid put together a five-round streak that reignited hopes of a comeback, but Falcons shut those hopes down and closed out the map 13:8.
Match MVP
Following the match, the best player of the series was Falcons’ AWPer m0NESY. He finished the game with an ADR of 105.8, a Swing of +6.04%, and a 1.61 rating, proving to be the key difference-maker in this matchup.
Despite playing with a stand-in — NucleonZ replacing kyousuke — and without their coach, Falcons had little trouble dealing with their opponent. Liquid end their tournament run in 5–8th place, earning $11,250 in prize money for the team and $40,000 for the organization. BLAST Bounty 2026 Season 1 Finals take place from January 22 to 25, with eight teams that advanced through the online qualifiers competing for the championship title.
