Astralis defeat Aurora and continue their fight for a spot in Stage 3 of StarLadder Budapest Major 2025

Astralis edged out Aurora in a dramatic Bo3 at StarLadder Budapest Major 2025, winning two maps in a row after dropping Nuke and sending the Turkish roster home despite their status as one of the main favorites to advance.

Nuke (13:11 Aurora)

The Turkish squad managed to snatch the win from Astralis. The first half was fully under Aurora’s control as they secured 8 rounds on the CT side. Switching to the offense, XANTARES and company kept up the pressure, reaching map point at 12:6. However, Astralis struck back with a 5-round streak, closing the gap to 11:12 and threatening overtime. Aurora did not let it happen and closed Nuke 13:11.

Train (13:8 Astralis)

Astralis responded by winning their opponent’s map pick. The first half was relatively close: despite Aurora’s strong start, Astralis reduced the gap to 5:7. Moving to the T side, the Danes produced an incredible streak of seven consecutive rounds, earning map point, and giving up just one round before sealing the map 13:8.

Mirage (13:11 Astralis)

The decider on Mirage was tense for both teams. In the first half, neither side could truly claim an advantage, trading rounds until the score was tied at halftime. The second half followed a similar pattern—round for round—until the 24th round, when Aurora reached an empty bombsite and planted the C4. Astralis were left in a 4v5 situation, which looked heavily in Aurora’s favor. Yet the Danes pulled off a 4v5 retake and closed Mirage 13:11 without overtime.

Match MVP

Magisk claimed the MVP title with 71 ADR, +2.70% Swing, and a 1.23 rating.
