The underdogs confidently won Dust2 (13:9), and on Mirage (13:11) they closed out the series 2:0, leaving their opponents one step away from elimination while moving closer themselves to qualifying for the second stage of the tournament.

Dust2 (9:13 Legacy)

The opening map of the match was Dust2, Legacy’s pick. They started strong with four consecutive round wins, building up a solid economy. Despite FURIA’s attempts to fight back, Legacy managed to close the first half with a comfortable 8:4 lead. In the second half, FURIA reduced the deficit to 9:11 thanks to their AWPer molodoy, who scored the highest number of kills. However, it wasn’t enough, and Legacy secured the map 13:9.

Mirage (13:11 Legacy)

The second map of the series turned out to be even tighter. FURIA finished the first half in the lead at 7:5. In the second half, however, Legacy showcased a strong T side and reached match point. FURIA had a chance to force overtime, but the final decisive round went in Legacy’s favor, denying their opponents the opportunity for a comeback.

Although Legacy came into the derby as underdogs, they managed to pull off an important victory and move into the 2-1 pool, where one more win will secure them a spot in the second stage of the tournament. FURIA, meanwhile, drop into the 1-2 bracket, where another loss would mean elimination, leaving no room for mistakes. ESL Pro League S22 Stage 1 runs from September 28 to October 2, with 16 teams fighting for progression to Stage 2 and a share of the $400,000 prize pool.
