paiN eliminate 3DMAX and will face Legacy next
paiN Gaming have eliminated 3DMAX from the BLAST.tv Austin Major 2025 with a 2-0 victory in the 1-2 Swiss round. The Brazilian side took Inferno 13-9 and Nuke 16-12 to secure progression to the final round of Stage 3, where they will face Legacy on June 15 for a playoff spot.
3DMAX opened the series with their pick of Inferno but failed to build momentum. After a close 7-5 first half, paiN shut down the French team’s T-side with consistent setups and multi-kill rounds from snow and biguzera. A critical mid-round clutch by snow in Round 18 and a clean conversion in the final rounds gave paiN the 13-9 win.
On Nuke, paiN carried their pace forward. They picked up eight CT rounds in the first half and converted four straight in overtime to secure the map 16-12. João ‘snow’ Vinicius led the scoreboard with 36 kills and a 1.25 rating, while biguzera followed closely with a 1.25 rating and 93.6 ADR. The pair combined for over 75 impact points and were involved in key retakes and clutches on both maps.
On 3DMAX’s side, Maka and Ex3rcice were the only players to maintain an even K/D ratio across both maps. Graviti and Lucky struggled throughout, ending with sub-0.80 ratings and failing to impact late rounds. Despite a highlight XM1014 4K from Maka on Inferno and a 1vs3 clutch by Ex3rcice on Nuke, the French squad lacked consistency in closing out key rounds.
paiN now move to a 2-2 record and will meet Legacy in the fifth round of the Swiss stage. That match will decide which of the two advances to the playoffs. It is scheduled for June 15.
