MOUZ Survives Elimination, Sends Liquid Packing at Austin Major
MOUZ kept their BLAST.tv Austin Major 2025 hopes alive with a hard-fought 2-1 win over Team Liquid in Swiss Round 3. The elimination match featured both teams fighting from a 0-2 record, but only MOUZ survived to move forward.
The series began on Dust2, picked by Liquid. MOUZ secured a strong CT half, closing out the map 13-8. torzsi made a standout impact early, including a P250 quad kill in the opening round. On Liquid’s pick of Nuke, however, the North American side rebounded with a dominant showing. Liquid took the map 13-4 behind ultimate’s high-impact performance, posting a 1.46 rating with 97.8 ADR across the series.
The decider on Mirage was tightly contested and went the distance. Regulation ended 12-12 before MOUZ edged it out in double overtime, 22-19. Spinx and torzsi stepped up in key moments, while Brollan closed a vital clutch to break Liquid’s late momentum. Despite Liquid's strong individual numbers, especially from ultimate and Twistzz, they couldn’t convert critical post-plant rounds in overtime.
MOUZ’s win eliminates Liquid from the Major and locks their next matchup against 3DMAX in the 1-2 pool. That match is scheduled for June 14th.
