Falcons open IEM Dallas 2025 with a flawless win over NRG
Team Falcons wasted no time asserting themselves on Day 1 of IEM Dallas 2025, delivering a clinical 2-0 victory over NRG in the Group B upper bracket quarterfinal. Despite the North American side’s hopes of making a splash on home soil, the #4 ranked Falcons were in complete control, with Ilya "m0NESY" Osipov putting on a masterclass across both maps.
The series kicked off on NRG’s map pick, Train, but their T-side stalled out fast. Falcons’ defense, spearheaded by m0NESY and TeSeS, locked down the site and closed the half 6-6 before cruising through the second half with a flawless 7-0 run. Map two on Nuke saw more of the same. Falcons jumped to a 9-3 lead at halftime, and despite a few clutch attempts from oSee, the result never looked in doubt.
m0NESY was the clear star of the match, dropping 44 kills with a 1.81 rating, 109.5 ADR, and an eye-watering 2.05 impact rating, earning him MVP of the match with 94.2% of the fan vote. Meanwhile, NRG’s veterans struggled under pressure, with nitr0 and HexT combining for just 26 frags over two maps.
