An Unexpected Result in the NAVI vs. MIBR Match at the Elimination Stage of Shanghai Major 2024

In the second round of the Elimination Stage at the Perfect World Shanghai Major 2024 , the reigning champions Natus Vincere faced off against MIBR. Both teams had won their previous round and were eager to deliver their best performance to secure a spot in the tournament's playoffs.

The game was played in a Bo1 format on Inferno, a map frequently chosen by both teams. The match began in an unexpected way – with MIBR taking a massive lead, so much so that the score had already reached 9-0. At this point, NAVI realized they needed to pull themselves together, as it wasn't for nothing that they were considered the best team of the year. The first half ended with a 3-9 score in favor of MIBR.

The second half was the complete opposite of the first. NAVI started taking round after round, claiming 11 rounds in total. However, when the score was 11-12 in MIBR’s favor, and NAVI entered the site and planted the bomb, they failed to win a 2v1 situation, thus unable to force the game into overtime.
