EGamersWorld/News/Counter-Strike (CS2)/Wildcard’s Victory Over Virtus.Pro in Round 4 of the Opening Stage at Shanghai Major 2024

Wildcard’s Victory Over Virtus.Pro in Round 4 of the Opening Stage at Shanghai Major 2024

The final match of Round 4 in the Opening Stage at the Shanghai Major 2024 saw Wildcard face off against Virtus.Pro. Both teams needed to deliver their best performances to secure a spot in the Elimination Stage. Entering with a 1-2 record from previous rounds, every mistake could prove decisive for their tournament journey.

The first map was chosen by Virtus.Pro, who picked Ancient. The game was incredibly close, with both teams dynamically trading rounds. However, VP demonstrated slightly stronger play on the Terrorist side, ultimately securing the map with a 13-10 victory.

Wildcard selected Inferno as the second map, taking their time to finalize this critical choice. The game started cautiously, with both teams playing strategically and sticking to their game plans. Wildcard’s impressive performance on the Terrorist side, winning nine rounds, helped them claim the map with a 13-7 score, tying the match 1-1.

The deciding map, once again Ancient, would reveal which team was truly superior. Wildcard began on the Terrorist side, and their dynamic playstyle, combined with swift site takes, earned them eight rounds in the first half. The second half saw Virtus.Pro rally, claiming a few rounds, but it wasn’t enough to turn the tide. Wildcard secured the map with a 13-8 win.
