In the 3rd round of the Opening Stage at the Shanghai Major 2024, Complexity Gaming faced off against Imperial Esports. Both teams aimed to deliver their best performance to keep their chances alive for advancing to the next stage of the tournament. After the first two rounds, both teams held a 0-2 record, meaning any mistake could cost them their place in the competition.

The first map pick went to Imperial, who chose Inferno. However, the match didn’t start smoothly for them. After four rounds, the score stood at 4-0 in favor of Complexity, forcing Imperial to adopt a more cautious approach. Throughout the map, Complexity maintained their advantage and played at a fast pace, which ultimately secured them a victory on Inferno with a 13-4 scoreline.

For the second map, Complexity Gaming chose Anubis, a map they occasionally play at various tournaments. The start on Anubis mirrored that of Inferno, with Complexity playing as Terrorists and executing quick site takes and excellent positional play. This led to an early 4-0 lead in their favor. Imperial Esports managed to find their footing and recover a few rounds, but it wasn’t enough to turn the tide.
