Unbelievable Twist: Na'Vi Overpowered, Heroic Secures Spot in Group B Final!
Bogdan LashchenkoHeroic showcased their exceptional form on home soil as they outperformed Natus Vincere in the upper bracket semi-final of the BLAST Fall Groups. The Danish team, displaying their prowess with a clean sweep in two maps, now stands just one victory away from qualifying for the Fall Final to be held in Copenhagen. Remarkably, Heroic is one of the few teams that made no roster changes during the off-season, and their cohesive gameplay is undoubtedly paying off.
Although Natus Vincere, the top-ranked team in the world, displayed glimpses of individual brilliance and performed well on the offensive halves, they struggled to contain Heroic's dynamic style and failed to establish effective CT setups. The team led by Aleksi "Aleksib" Virolainen will now face the winner of the Astralis versus BIG match in the consolidation final.
Mihai "iM" Ivan's performances raise concerns for Natus Vincere. The Romanian rifler acknowledged the challenges of integrating into a new team, citing the reduced space to shine compared to his previous team, GamerLegion. While he still has time to adapt, his performances against Astralis (0.99) and Heroic (0.68) fell below the high standards he set at the Paris Major.
In the series, Natus Vincere selected Mirage as their map and won the opening pistol round. However, Heroic swiftly turned the tide with precise Deagle shots and secured four consecutive rounds. Natus Vincere managed a force-buy comeback, led by b1t's impressive double headshots on the B site. The teams remained evenly matched until Heroic gained control of the economy and finished the half with a three-round advantage.
Heroic extended their lead in the second half, winning the pistol round and securing a six-round advantage over Natus Vincere. Although the international squad fought back with two close rounds, their lack of practice was evident as their CT side lacked coordination. Heroic's successful B rush regained their dominance, sealing the map 16-9 and advancing the series to Inferno, Heroic's map pick.
Natus Vincere started strong, taking a 2-0 lead after winning the pistol round. However, Heroic quickly turned the tables with a remarkable seven-round streak, highlighted by stavn's heroics with the AK-47 and cadiaN's impressive 1vs3 clutch. Frustration grew evident in Natus Vincere's gameplay as Heroic consistently outmaneuvered them. Heroic secured an 11-4 halftime lead, and they comfortably closed out the map 16-10, securing the five rounds needed to progress further in the Fall Groups.
With just one best-of-three victory separating them from a coveted spot in the Fall Finals, Heroic eagerly awaits their Group B final match, scheduled for Thursday. Their impressive performance against Natus Vincere has undoubtedly bolstered their confidence and positioned them as strong contenders for a place in the upcoming Fall Final.
