Team G2 outplayed FaZe Clan with a score of 2:0, thanks to which they made it to the grand final of group A, and also guaranteed participation in the playoffs of IEM Katowice 2023. Now the "samurai" will meet with the winner of the Team Liquid pair - NAVI, where they will play for a direct ticket to the semi-finals. In turn, the FaZe Clan team fell into the lower bracket of the group, where they get another chance to get into the playoffs.

The principal confrontation started on the map Nuke, which became the choice of G2. At the same time, Swani's wards showed an extremely confident attack, having managed to greatly surprise the opponent. At the same time, FaZe Clan players did practically nothing on defense, recording a noticeable backlog - 9:6. After switching sides, Galaktikos managed to get involved in the fight and impose their own pace on the opponent. However, in the very end, G2 managed to seize the initiative to get the key rounds and take the lead in the series — 16:14.

Next, the teams moved to the Ancient map, which turned out to be the choice of FaZe Clan. Nevertheless, here from the first minutes, the “samurai” took control of the game in order to create a strong reserve for themselves. However, RobbaN's wards managed to wake up in the end to reduce the gap to five rounds — 10:5. After the side switch, FaZe Clan failed to return to the game, while G2 immediately spun up in the attack and got the final victory — 16:7.

IEM Katowice 2023 takes place from 1 to 12 February in Katowice at the Spodek Arena. As part of the championship, 24 teams from the CIS, Europe, North and Latin America, Asia and Oceania are fighting for a total prize pool of $1,000,000, as well as a ticket to IEM Cologne 2023 for the winner.
