The BIG and FURIA teams got victories in the third round of the IEM Rio Major 2022 Challengers Stage, thanks to which they were one step away from reaching the "legends" of the major. According to the results of the past meetings, these teams managed to outplay Grayhound Gaming (16:6) and OG (19:16), respectively.

BIG - Grayhound Gaming

The next match of the championship took place on the Dust 2 map. At the same time, the meeting started in an extremely unexpected way, as the Australian team managed to subdue the opponent and give out an excellent series of six rounds. And yet, further BIG managed to somehow wake up in order to take nine rounds and leave for a short pause with a calm soul - 9:6. Well, after the change of sides, there was no trace left of the Grayhound Gaming players, as the German team continued to stick to its line, completing the final defeat - 16:6.

OG-FURIA

A parallel meeting took place on the Overpass map. Here, everything initially developed in favor of the favorites of the local public. Nevertheless, OG managed to show a good ending in defense in order to get a minimal advantage at the end of the first half — 8:7. After the change of sides, the situation did not change in any way, as the teams went into overtime. And yet here the Brazilian team took their toll, for the second time they pleased their fans -19:16.
