
Astralis confidently defeat FUT in the opening match of ESL Pro League S23 Stage 2
In the second stage of ESL Pro League Season 23, Astralis got off to a strong start with a victory over FUT Esports. The Danish squad showed clear dominance on the server and closed the series 2–0 without major difficulties, controlling both maps — Ancient and Mirage. With this win, Astralis begin Stage 2 with a 1–0 record, while FUT, despite their successful 3–0 run in the first stage of the tournament, suffer their first loss and drop to the 0–1 bracket.

On Ancient, Astralis started confidently on the T side and finished the first half with a comfortable 9–3 lead. After the side switch, FUT tried to regain momentum, but Astralis had no trouble closing the map 13–6.
On their own map pick, FUT were unable to find their game, as Astralis completely dominated the server and secured Mirage with a convincing 13–3 score.

The best player of the match was Staehr, who finished the series with an ADR of 108.8 and a 1.70 rating.
Despite FUT’s strong performance in Stage 1, where they advanced with a 3–0 record, they start Stage 2 with a loss and fall to the 0–1 bracket. Astralis, meanwhile, move forward with a 1–0 record. ESL Pro League S23 Stage 2 runs from March 6 to March 10, where 16 teams compete for a spot in the playoffs. The remaining eight participants will share a prize pool of $185,000.
