Teams Vitality and fnatic got their first wins at IEM Rio Major 2022. According to the results of the starting round, the teams turned out to be stronger than Imperial Esports (16:9) and Cloud9 (19:17). Now the teams will prepare for the second round of the competition, which will begin very soon.

Vitality-Imperial Esports

One of the last meetings of the first round took place on the Inferno map. However, the local public clearly did not expect such a failed attack from their "favorites". Well, the Danish-French team played very confidently for the defense, having actually resolved all issues in advance - 12:3. After the side switch, Imperial Esports tried to return the intrigue to the server, but to no avail. Well, Vitality, as expected, brought the matter to a victorious end and went to the “kings” of the second round — 16:9.

Cloud9-fnatic

The final duel of the first round also took place on the Inferno map. At the same time, Cloud9 again decided to play checkers, for which they immediately paid with the confident defense of the opponent. Nevertheless, in the very end, the Russian team managed to unwind for a couple of rounds in order to bring the gap up to five rounds — 10:5. After switching sides, fnatic took the initiative into their own hands, at some point getting real chances to get a victory. But here the Cloud9 team joined the game, which gave out a cool series and switched the map to overtime. And yet here fnatic managed to hold back the opponent in order to get the first victory in the championship — 19:17.
