Teams GamerLegion and MOUZ got their first wins at IEM Rio Major 2022. According to the results of the first round of the Challengers stage, they managed to outplay 9z (16:6) and Outsiders (16:6), respectively. Now the teams will prepare for the start of the second round, which will begin in a few hours.

9z - Gamer Legion

The opening match of the entire Major took place on the Inferno map. However, the Latin American team, for which most of the arena supported, clearly underestimated the strength of their opponent. As a result, GamerLegion showed an excessively strong play for the attack, closing all questions in advance. After switching sides, 9z still tried to show herself in front of the crowd. But the European team did not allow themselves to let go of the situation, and at the same time they got their first victory in the championship - 16:6.

MOUZ-Outsiders

A parallel meeting also took place on the Inferno map. But if the starting segment was left for the “mice”, then closer to the changeover, the Ukrainian team managed to rectify the situation and reduce the gap to three rounds — 9:6. It seemed that the change of sides would help the Outsiders wake up, but it turned out to be quite different. On the contrary, in the second half, MOUZ players finally found their game in order to confidently play for the attack and get a starting victory at IEM Rio Major 2022 — 16:6.
