Team Liquid and Evil Geniuses got their third victory in the IEM Road to Rio 2022 American RMR, thanks to which they guaranteed participation in the IEM Rio Major 2022. Now the North American teams will meet each other to determine the winner of the RMR tournament, and at the same time the owner a direct ticket to the Legends stage.

As part of the third round of IEM Road to Rio 2022 American RMR, Team Liquid managed to cope with Complexity with a score of 2:1, despite a disappointing defeat on the Overpass map. In turn, the North Americans from Evil Geniuses outplayed 9z with a score of 2:1 to guarantee participation in IEM Rio Major 2022.

On Sunday, October 9, Team Liquid and Evil Geniuses will hold a face-to-face meeting, where they will play the fate of a ticket to the "legends" of the upcoming IEM Rio Major 2022. This confrontation will take place in the BO3 format. Note that the team that loses here will go to the Major exactly at the Challengers stage.

IEM Rio Major 2022 will take place from October 31 to November 13 in Brazil at the Jeunesse Arena and at the Riocentro convention center. As part of the championship, 24 teams from the CIS, Europe, North and South America, and Asia will compete for a prize pool of $1,000,000, ranking points in the BLAST Premier table, as well as tickets to BLAST Premier: World Final 2022 and IEM Katowice 2023 for the winner.
