IEM Road to Rio 2022 American RMR results announced

IEM Road to Rio 2022 American RMR has come to an end. As part of the championship, which was held from October 5 to 9 in Stockholm, sixteen teams from North America, Brazil and Latin America fought for six tickets to the upcoming IEM Rio Major 2022. Based on the results of a busy week of competition, the names of six teams that will represent the unified region were determined at the Brazilian Major. Well, we offer to get acquainted with the names of these "lucky ones".

The winner of the championship was the North American Team Liquid, which not only got three wins in the main stage, but also outperformed Evil Geniuses in the match for a slot in the "legends" of the Major. The Evil Geniuses team is on the second line, which, after three victories in the Swiss bracket, lost to Team Liquid and was content with a ticket to the Challengers stage.

The 9z team got into the TOP-3 of the tournament, having won three victories and suffered one defeat along the way. The Brazilian bands 00NATION and FURIA finished their performances with the same result, but they lost to 9z according to the Buchholz system, thus entering the Contenders stage. Well, the last vacant ticket to IEM Rio Major 2022 was taken by the Imperial Esports team, which in the final series of replays first beat paiN Gaming, and then won a victory over Complexity.

  • 6th place: Imperial Esports - a place in the Contenders Stage
  • 7th place: Complexity
  • 8th place: paiN Gaming
  • 9th-11th place: Isurus, ATK and Nouns Esports
  • 12th-14th place: MIBR, Team oNe eSports and O PLANO
  • 15th-16th place: Infinity and ARCTIC

IEM Rio Major 2022 will take place from October 31 to November 13 in Brazil at the Jeunesse Arena and at the Riocentro convention center. As part of the championship, 24 teams from the CIS, Europe, North and South America, and Asia will compete for a prize pool of $1,000,000, ranking points in the BLAST Premier table, as well as tickets to BLAST Premier: World Final 2022 and IEM Katowice 2023 for the winner.
