The Complexity team defeated Astralis 2:1, thus scoring the first three points in the group stage of ESL Pro League Season 16. The incredible return of the North American team on Nuke and strong-willed play on Dust 2 gives the first sensation in group C. In turn, the Danes forced to prepare for the next matches, slightly losing the chances of getting into the TOP-3.

The second confrontation of the gaming day started on the Inferno map, which became the choice of the North American team. However, Astralis quickly seized the initiative, closing the first half with a twofold advantage — 10:5. After the side switch, the players of Complexity failed to wake up, while the Danish team confidently played for the attack and took the lead in the series — 16:9.

Next, the teams moved to the Nuke map, which turned out to be the choice of Astralis. The game started in favor of the Danish team, which showed an excellent attack and secured a comfortable advantage - 9:6. After the side switching, Astralis continued to stick to its line, but here a coup happened in the game, which allowed Complexity to reach the overtimes. Here the North Americans put the squeeze on the opponent and managed to level the score in the series - 25:23.

The fate of the fight was decided on the Dust 2 map, which started with a slight advantage for the Danish team — 8:7. However, after the side switch, Astralis disappeared from the server, while Complexity players demonstrated strong defense and sensationally closed the match in their favor — 16:11.

In the next round of the championship, the North American team will play with HEET, while Astralis will face MOUZ.

ESL Pro League Season 16 runs from August 31st to October 2nd in Malta at the Salini Resort. 24 teams from Europe, CIS, North and South America compete for a total prize pool of $835,000. The winner of the tournament will receive the main prize of $175,000, as well as tickets to BLAST Premier: World Final 2022 and IEM Katowice 2023.
