G2 Esports makes a coup on Ancient advances to the quarterfinals of ESL Pro League Season 16

The G2 Esports team defeated the Outsiders with a score of 2:0, thanks to which they directly made it to the quarterfinals of ESL Pro League Season 16. According to the results of the group stage of the tournament, the team did not suffer a single defeat, thanks to which they led group B. As for the Outsiders, the team takes third place in their group and also makes it to the playoffs of the championship.

The crucial meeting for the right to reach the 1/4 finals started on the Inferno map, which became the choice of the Outsiders team. However, the audience did not see any struggle, as the European team immediately seized the initiative on the server and closed the first half with a devastating score — 13:2. After the side switch, dastan's men did not join the fight, while G2 Esports quickly got three rounds and took the lead in the series — 16:2.

Next, the teams moved to the Ancient map, which became the choice of G2 Esports. Here the situation immediately turned upside down, as the Outsiders now had an overwhelming advantage and quickly gained rounds. As a result, the Russian team finished the first half devastatingly and, as it seemed, began to prepare for the third map. But here the G2 Esports team joined the game, which not only managed to make it to overtime, but also took the card on courage, and at the same time the series as a whole — 19:16.

ESL Pro League Season 16 runs from August 31st to October 2nd in Malta at the Salini Resort. 24 teams from Europe, CIS, North and South America compete for a total prize pool of $835,000.
