Invitations to closed qualifiers for ESL Challenger at DreamHack Rotterdam 2022 announced
Tournament operator ESL has presented a list of invited teams to participate in closed qualifiers for ESL Challenger at DreamHack Rotterdam 2022. The qualifiers will be held in three regions - Europe, North and South America - offering one ticket to the upcoming championship.
PaiN Gaming from Brazil won the previous ESL Challenger at DreamHack championship in Melbourne. In the final, the team beat Imperial Esports with a score of 2:1.
Four teams were invited to participate in the European qualifiers - forZe, Sprout, Entropiq and Eternal Fire. The closed qualifier for North America will feature ATK and Squirtle Squad (former Gaimin Gladiators). PaiN Gaming and Imperial Esports, the finalists of the recent ESL Challenger at DreamHack Melbourne 2022, will play as part of the qualifiers for Latin America.
Schedule of closed qualifiers
- Europe: September 16-18 (eight participants - double elimination format with BO3 matches)
- North America: September 17-18 (four participants - double elimination format with BO3 matches)
- Latin America: September 14-15 (four participants - double elimination format with BO3 matches)
Note that the closed qualifiers for the ESL Challenger at DreamHack Rotterdam 2022 for teams from Africa ended a little earlier. The winner of the last qualifiers was the Nixuh team, which became the first participant in the upcoming championship.
ESL Challenger at DreamHack Rotterdam 2022 will take place from 14 to 16 October in the Netherlands at the Rotterdam Ahoy site. As part of the championship, participants from Europe, Africa, North and South America will compete for a total prize pool of $100,000, as well as a ticket to the ESL Pro League Conference Season 17 for the winner.
