One of the most anticipated events for all fans of the IEM Cologne 2022 discipline is coming to an end. Today we'll talk about the match that determined the second participant in the grand final between FaZe Clan and Movistar Riders. As a result of two tense maps, “Feizy” managed to win, and we will tell you more about the match below.

List of maps

  • Movistar Riders chose Ancient
  • FaZe Clan chose Nuke
  • Dust2, Inferno, Vertigo, Overpass are banned, Mirage remains.

The first skirmish took place on Ancient, where the owners of the map could not confirm their choice. Although the match began more or less smoothly, because the first four rounds ended with a score of 2-2, but then FaZe Clan completely dominated. After giving two more rounds, the players easily outplayed their opponents, finishing the first half with a score of 11-4. After the change of sides, Movistar Riders began to gradually rehabilitate themselves and even reduced the gap to a minimum value, but unfortunately for them, the difference was too great. As a result, FaZe Clan closed the first match with a score of 16-12. The best result among the winners was shown by broky, finishing the confrontation with KD 26-18.

Next, the teams are transferred to Nuke, and the situation there is fundamentally different from the previous map, the lack of dominance of any of the parties. Although the Movistar players took the pistol round and the next two rounds, the opponents confidently closed the gap. Then a really even game began, neither team was going to give the opponent a chance, and in the end, the first half of the map ended with a score of 8-7 in favor of Movistar. However, after the change of sides, the vectors of the game changed dramatically. The hosts of the map began to gain momentum confidently, having given only two rounds, FaZe Clan players began to successfully take the lead, which ultimately brought them a victory with a score of 16-9. Ropz had the best record among the winners, finishing the match with KD 23-11.

As a result of the match, Movistar Riders leave the tournament, taking 3-4 place together with Astralis, in turn, FaZe Clan go to the grand final, where they will meet with NaVi for the right to own the champion title.
