Team Liquid and ENCE lost to G2 Esports (0:2) and Astralis (1:2), after which they left IEM Katowice 2022. At the same time, G2 Esports and Astralis will continue to fight in the semi-finals of the lower bracket, where they will meet with the losers of the next two matches group B.

Team Liquid-G2 Esports

The first match of the game day started on the Vertigo map, which became the choice of the North American team. At the same time, G2 Esports players quickly seized the initiative, which they managed to translate into a two-fold advantage before switching sides. In the second half, Team Liquid did not help the won pistol round, as G2 Esports decided not to put it on the back burner and confidently closed the opponent at his own peak — 16:8.

Next, the teams moved to the Mirage map, where G2 Esports again showed itself in all its glory, this time finishing the opening half with a score of 11:4. After the side switch, the North American team again failed to come up with anything in response, thereby finally saying goodbye to the championship - 16:5.

Astralis-ENCE

The parallel meeting started on the Mirage map, which became the choice of ENCE. Despite a strong start, the hosts let go a little before the switchover, allowing the Danes to get within three rounds. In the second half, ENCE continued to dictate its terms, while Astralis answered confidently. In this state, the teams made it to overtime, where ENCE players turned out to be stronger — 19:16.

Next, the teams moved to the Overpass map, which turned out to be the choice of Astralis. Again, the teams showed equal CS, constantly exchanging series of rounds. And yet, the ending remained with the players of the Danish team, whose defense worked unquestioningly — 16:12.

Everything was decided on the map Ancient, where the Danish team, having started on defense, managed to level the starting gap and get a comfortable advantage before switching sides. In the second half, ENCE tried to get back into the game; however, Astralis managed not to let the opponent go forward, and at the same time got a strong-willed victory — 16:13.
