Gambit Esports and Virtus.pro are in the same group at IEM Katowice 2022
The organizers of IEM Katowice 2022 have presented the results of the draw for the group stage of the championship. ESL also published the seeding of teams for the Play-In stage, from where the top eight teams will advance to the group stage of IEM Katowice 2022.
In group A, the undisputed favorite seems to be Team Vitality, who recently shot in BLAST. At the same time, the Danish-French team will definitely see resistance from Gambit Esports and Virtus.pro, who performed well at the end of the last season, while sh1ro and the company already managed to start the new year with a win.
Group A: Team Vitality, Heroic, Gambit Esports and Virtus.pro + 4 teams from Play-In.
Many people expect Natus Vincere vs. G2 Esports from Group B. However, the teams are divided into different grids, so a face-to-face meeting can only take place in the final of the group. Together with them, FURIA Esports and Team Liquid will be among the seeds, which showed a frankly weak start in the new season.
Group B: Natus Vincere, FURIA Esports, Team Liquid and G2 Esports + 4 teams from Play-In.
IEM Katowice 2022 will start with the Play-In stage, where 16 teams will compete in a double-elimination bracket. From here, only eight teams will advance to the next stage of the competition, where they will meet with the first seeded teams.
