fnatic departed from IEM Winter 2021

The last matches of the group stage of IEM Winter 2021 have ended, as a result of which the fnatic team lost to Gambit with a score of 1: 2 and left the championship. At the same time, Virtus.pro defeated GODSENT with a score of 2: 0 and advanced directly to the semifinals of the tournament.

Virtus.pro - GODSENT

The final of Group B started on the Mirage map, which, as expected, became the choice of the Brazilian team. However, GODSENT never managed to get ahead, gaining only a round of advantage over the side switching. Nevertheless, the start of the second half entirely remained with the Brazilians, who quickly advanced to the 14th round. Here Virtus.pro players had to show their character, who made a beautiful comeback and snatched a victory at the opponent's pick - 16:14.

Then the teams moved to Dust 2, where the fate of the Brazilian team became clear in the first half. As a result, two confident halves from Virtus.pro allowed the team to easily pick up their own pick and reach the semifinals of the championship - 16: 7.

fnatic - Gambit

The fight for the last slot in the playoffs of the championship started on the map Inferno, which was chosen by the fnatic team. At the same time, ALEX and the company showed a fairly confident attack, gaining a two-fold advantage over switching sides. However, in the second half the alignment of forces changed, as the Gambit players already had the initiative, gradually catching up with their opponents. As a result of the two halves, the teams advanced to overtime, where fnatic's players turned out to be stronger - 19:16.

Then the teams moved to the Vertigo map. And if the first half passed under the sign of Gambit's superiority, then after the change of sides fnatic had to recoup. As a result, the teams again went to overtime, which this time went in favor of the Russian team - 22:19.

Everything was decided on the Overpass map, where fnatic players had to start offensively. However, Gambit, inspired by the victory on its own pick, showed a confident half in defense, having managed to leave for the break with a colossal advantage - 14: 1. After this, fnatic had practically no chance of returning, while Gambit confidently reached the necessary rounds to get the last ticket to the IEM Winter 2021 playoffs - 16: 4.
