IEM Winter 2021 has come to an end. At the championship, which took place from December 2 to December 12 in Stockholm, sixteen teams from all over the world competed for a prize pool of $ 250,000. The winner of the tournament was the Vitality team, which beat the Swedish team NIP with a score of 3: 0 in the grand final (Inferno - 16:10; Dust 2 - 16:10; Nuke - 16:13). Thanks to this victory, the French team earned $ 100,000.

The grand final started on the Inferno map, which became the choice of the Swedish team. However, the French quickly seized the initiative on the server, breaking into the lead with a score of 7: 2. Nevertheless, NIP managed to get into the game to make a comeback and even come out ahead in the first half. But all the attempts of the Swedes were in vain, because in the second half Vitality showed a lightning-fast attack, having managed to quickly crush the “hosts”, and at the same time come out ahead in this series - 16:10.

Next, the teams moved to the Dust 2 map, which turned out to be the choice of the French team. Once again, the starting segment went to Vitality, which showed several interesting rounds. However, closer to the side switching, NIP leveled the score gap, and then provided a comfortable advantage. Nevertheless, after the change of sides, the French quickly closed the gap, and then galloped forward. The Swedish team could not do anything about this, allowing the opponent to take the second map - 16:10.

Everything was decided on the Nuke map, which began under the sign of French superiority. And again, closer to the side switching, NIP managed to close the gap, bringing the matter to a minimum gap. In the second half, the game was more equal, but the French managed to take the rounds in series, gradually breaking away from the opponent. As a result, a series of mistakes from NIP allowed Vitality players to finally close all questions, and at the same time win the first trophy of the season - 16:13.
