However, the first half was marked by the superiority of Virtus.pro, which held the initiative all the time, constantly causing problems for the opponent's attack. The side switching did not change the general pattern of the game, as the CIS team continued to take rounds, running ahead. At some point, it seemed that VP would quickly deal with the opponent. However, at that moment the French joined, who, not without the help of luck, took a series of rounds and made a comeback with a score of 7:13 - 16:13.
Next, the teams moved to the Vertigo map, which became Virtus.pro's choice. The first half was played in an equal fight, albeit with a slight advantage in favor of the “hosts”. As a result, Virtus.pro gained a minimal advantage over the side switching, leaving for a short pause in high spirits. The side switching helped the French team wake up and gradually run forward. Nevertheless, VP had no intention of letting go of his opponent, having managed to equalize the score and revive the intrigue. And yet, at the end of the series, Vitality managed to snatch victory and reach the grand final of IEM Winter 2021 - 16:13.
