Rumor: m0NESY will go to G2 Esports after BLAST Premier Fall Finals 2021 ends
Ihor MatusJournalists from the Ukrainian portal GameInside report that Natus Vincere youth player Ilya 'm0NESY' Osipov can join the ranks of G2 Esports, and the cost of such a transfer will be about $ 600,000. The editors received this information from their sources, which they consider reliable.
At the moment, none of the parties to the likely transfer have commented on this information in any way.
Previously famous CIS insider Alexei 'OverDrive' Biryukov shared similar information regarding Osipov's transfer to the ranks of G2 Esports. According to him, m0NESY could take the role of a sniper instead of François 'AmaNEk' Delanouet:
M0NESY may be in G2 instead of AmaNEk as a sniper. <...> This is a very likely scenario. I have heard that the amounts are from $ 200 thousand to $ 500 thousand. Someone says that this is not enough, while others are a lot. Most importantly, m0NESY did not play at tier 1 level. He cannot cost more than $ 400 thousand or $ 500 thousand. He did not perform at the top level, and we do not know what it will look like. He crumbles at the level of "academics", but in fact there are many such players.
If the information from GameInside turns out to be true, then some of Biryukov's guesses may turn out to be false. He believes that the maximum price of m0NESY is $ 200,000, since although he is very good at his level, he has not yet reached Tier-1 level.
OverDrive commented on its thoughts on the price of Ilya Osipov as follows:
I think the $ 200K price tag is a red price for him, because we don't know who he is[on the tier-1 stage]. I have no doubts or questions that he is a genius and a super promising player. He would now strengthen any team where there are questions about the sniper.
A couple of weeks ago, the first rumors appeared on the network regarding m0NESY's departure from Natus Vincere Junior. Vyacheslav 'innersh1ne' Britvin, who plays the role of an analyst at FaZe Clan, turned to the CIS community and asked to support the young player in case of his transfer to G2 Esports. According to Vyacheslav, m0NESY may experience great difficulties in adapting to a new team, due to its age and lack of experience in performing on the Tier-1 stage.
Nemanja 'huNter-' Kovacs tried to fight these rumors. On November 22, he said that Ilya 'm0NESY' Osipov is not going to continue his career in G2 Esports, and the CS: GO roster of G2 is unlikely to be subject to changes in the near future. According to him, the management of the e-sports club is quite satisfied with the results of G2. Recall that right now the European team is in second position in the list of the best CS: GO teams in the world according to the HLTV portal. Despite the denial of rumors about m0NESY's transfer to the ranks of G2 Esports, huNter- is looking forward to Ilya Osipov's release to a new level and to the Tier-1 stage.
