3509adreN has announced that it will skip PGL Major Stockholm 2021 as Liquid's coach is expecting a baby. Liquid's coach for the upcoming championship will be jokasteve, who is the team's manager.
The loss of the head coach will be a big blow for Liquid ahead of PGL Major Stockholm 2021, as the team have looked prepared for the main challenge in recent weeks, while NAF and Stewie2K have shown their best performances at BLAST Premier Fall Showdown 2021 in recent months.
"I will miss the PGL Major due to the upcoming birth of my son. The first Major in the last two years. I am sad to miss this championship, but I would never miss this moment with my wife," adreN wrote on social networks.
jokasteve has been Liquid's manager since 2015 and can often be seen sitting side by side during training and official matches. He also acted as the team's coach for the ELEAGUE Premier 2018, where Liquid finished second after losing in the grand final to Astralis.
Despite not having the same tactical base and depth of knowledge as adreN, the 31-year-old will be a familiar voice for players on the server.
Note that by finishing second in the regional table in North America, Liquid directly entered the Legend stage of the upcoming PGL Major Stockholm 2021, which starts on October 30.
