IEM Fall 2021 will be held on a new patch
/A day ago, Valve released a major update for CS: GO, which touched on key aspects of the game. At the same time, less than a week is left before the start of IEM Fall 2021 - a series of regional tournaments, which caused numerous discussions. However, the organizers have now confirmed that IEM Fall 2021 will take place on a new patch. This means that the participating teams will have to prepare for the new meta in just a week.
Traditionally, Valve championships are held on the latest version of the game, and this will happen again, despite the fact that a significant update was released a week before the start of the tournament in four of the six regions.
Before it was officially announced, the possibility of using the new update already at IEM Fall 2021 was met with widespread criticism from professional players due to the short period of time during which they will have to get used to the changes, which are expected to significantly change meta.
As a reminder, IEM Fall 2021 will be the last regional major tournament in all six regions. In Europe, the CIS, South America and Oceania, the championships will start on September 29, while in Asia and North America, the tournaments will start on October 5.
