The Bali Major 2023 is the third major Dota 2 tournament in the series and is being staged as part of the DPC 2023 ranking season by IO Esports. The top teams from around the world will compete in The Bali Major 2023 to share in the impressive prize pool and the DPC ranking points needed to qualify for The International 2023.
The importance of The Bali Major 2023 is that it will be the last chance for professional teams to earn DPC points before The International 2023.

Overview of The Bali Major 2023: participants, prize pool and organiser
The tournament will be held in the LAN-format and the venue will be Bali, Indonesia. The start of the championship is scheduled for June 28 this year and the competition will continue until July 9. A total of 18 teams from six professional regions will take part in the tournament. They will be determined based on the results of the DPC 2023 Tour 3 matches.
The distribution of slots by region for The Bali Major 2023 is shown below:
- 4 teams each from Western Europe and China, 3 teams from Eastern Europe and South East Asia, 2 teams each from North and South America.
The participants will compete for a prize pool of $500,000 which is a traditional Major tournament size and 3,500 DPC points, 800 points more than the previous Major tournament.
The 2023 Bali Major champion will win the top prize of $200,000 and 600 DPC points, the Silver medallist will win $100,000 and 550 DPC points, and the bronze medallist will earn $75,000 and 500 DPC points.
IO Esports, an esports studio, will organise and publicise the event. The company is headquartered in Malaysia. As an organizer of esports events IO Esports has been working since 2020. During this time, the organization has managed to work in such disciplines as PUBG Mobile, Mobile Legends, Valorant, League of Legends Wild Rift and Dota 2.
In Dota 2 IO Esports noted holding ONE Esports Dota 2 SEA League, which took place in the online format and had a prize fund of $ 100,000. The Bali Major 2023 is the first major LAN tournament for the tournament operator.
Format of The Bali Major 2023
The tournament will feature 18 teams. The Bali Major 2023 will consist of two stages, group stage and play-offs. In the group stage, teams will be divided into two groups of 9 participants. The group stage is played in a Round-Robin format. The format of the matches is Bo2. The participants who make it to the top 4 will qualify for the top play-offs. The 5th-6th places will get slots in the lower net, and the remaining teams will finish their participation in the Major.
In the final phase, 12 teams will battle it out in the Double-Elimination. The format for all matches, with the exception of the Grand Final, will be Bo3. The Bali Major 2023 will be decided by the results of the Bo5 series.
