In brief:
Beastcoast is an American multigaming organization, which emerged in the esports arena in 2017. The performance of the Dota 2 division brought the biggest success to the young organization. We present to your attention the history of the success of beastcoast in Dota 2.
The first appearance
Beastcoast’s debut happened in 2019. According to the esports standards, it is a very young organization, however, it is never too late to conquer the world scene. The first roster included the players who previously used to play for the mix TEAM TEAM.
· EternaLEnVy
· Ryoya
· Brax
· Tmt
· ixmike88
In fact, the first version of beastcoast was a mix of the veterans of the professional scene and fresh blood. However, as it often happens, such an approach has had no results.
In this form, beastcoast played only a few championships. The first one was MDL Disneyland Paris Major, at which beastcoast placed 13th-16th, and the second one was the closed qualifiers to EPICENTER Major 2019 North America Closed Qualifier where beastcoast finished 5th. EternaLEnVy and tmt left the team after that and their spots were taken by Mandy and MoOz.
They were playing on the recently-created roster till September 2019. During this period, the team managed to hold the 3rd place in the closed qualifiers to StarLadder ImbaTV Dota 2 Minor Season 2 North America, the 3rd place at WePlay! Dota 2 Tug of War: Dire America, the 3rd-4th place in the American qualifiers to The International 2019, and the 5th place at DOTA Summit 10.
A row of not the most confident performances led to another roster change. Massive replacements started in September: MoOz and Ryoya initially left the team and then, Mady and Brax departed from the roster. The head of beastcoast decided not to find replacements for the former players and signed the full team at once. It was Team Anvorgesa, which consisted of the Peruvian players. The new roster of beastcoast included:
· K1
· Chris Luck
· Wisper
· Scofield
· Stinger
With this roster, beastcoast went to the second Major tournament for the organization, it was MDL Chengdu Major. The team placed 7th-8th there, which was a pretty good result for the team from South America. By the end of the year, beastcoast qualified to DreamLeague Season 13, having held the second place in the South American qualifiers.
2020 and the coronavirus pandemic
At the beginning of 2020, beastcoast participated in the third Major tournament for the organization. The team held the 7th-8th place at DreamLeague Season 13 in January. By the way, they were eliminated from the championship for the second time in a row by Invictus Gaming.
The performance at DreamLeague Season 13 was the last offline tournament for beastcoast. However, not only for them because the coronavirus pandemic has changed the ordinary lifestyle
They prevailed at ESL One Los Angeles 2020 – Online: South America and placed 7th-8th at BTS Pro Series Americas in April. Then, there was the first place at Realms Collide and the 5th one at ESL One Birmingham 2020 – Online: North & South America.
The team held the 7th-8th place at BTS PRO Series Season 2: Americas in June and finished 5th-6th at OGA Dota PIT S2: Americas and The Great American Rivalry Season 1: Division 1 in July-August. At the end of August, the team held the 7th place at ESL One Thailand 2020: Americas.
September began with the 4th place at OMEGA League: Americas Divine Division and continued with the 5th-6th place at BTS Pro Series Season 3: Americas.
In November, the team held the 5th-6th place at DOTA Summit 13 Online: Americas.
Beastcoast managed to stabilize the situation only by the end of 2020. In December, they placed 4th at Realms Collide: The Burning Darkness, 7th-8th at Movistar Liga Pro Gaming Final Series, and 4th at BTS Pro Series Season 4: Americas.
