Worlds 2021 Group Stage Predictions

The Play-In stage is over and all the teams participating in the Worlds 2021 group stage have been determined.Using lolesports.com, I will analyze the teams' chances and give a forecast for their final position in the groups.

Group A

In the first group of LoLesport schedule gathered the main contenders to win the tournament: FunPlus Phoenix and DAMWON KIA. For the most part, the final position of the teams in this tournament will depend on this confrontation. Rogue and Cloud9 will clash for third place. As I said throughout the Play-In stage, C9 has a lot of micro and macro problems, which will undoubtedly result in defeats against strong lineups.

Group B

A very interesting company gathered in group B. And about this group I have the most doubts and thoughts. Edward Gaming had a great summer split and managed to beat FPX in the final, which is why they earned a slot at Worlds 2021. I definitely put them in first place, since the three remaining teams simply won't be able to pull out the Chinese individually.

T1 is still in a precarious position: they can either be the best team in Korea, or merge the game, failing at the peak stage, however, as far as I understand, at Worlds 2021 the main ADC of the team will be Gumayusi, who is much stronger than Teddy in all respects, and pairing them with Keria on the boat will give T1 the strength it needs to get through.

As much as I would not like 100 Thieves to go further, but with such opponents, I don’t think they will be able to do it, however, they will not take the last place, since there is also DetonatioN FocusMe, albeit they showed themselves well, but before teams from the main region, to be honest, they have very little chance.

Group C

Let's start the discussion of Group C from the last place: HLE, despite their status, showed themselves very poorly at the Play-In stage. I expected more confident play from the roster and therefore I do not think that they will be able to pass the selection barrier even though they have Chovy on their team.

The other 3 teams are pretty equal, but:

• RNGs failed very strongly in the summer split;
  
• Fnatic constantly shows the will to win, despite the disadvantageous situations for themselves;
• Much of the success of the PSG Talon at MSI 2021 was due to the presence of Doggo on the team as a replacement.
  

Therefore, I distributed the remaining 3 places in the same way.

Group D

In the last group, MAD Lions and LNG Esports will be the clear favorites for the passage further. Gen.G, despite a good game at the beginning of the season, gave up very badly at the end and could not adapt to the new patches, which is why they lost my confidence in themselves. Drawdowns are visible not only in team interaction, but also in individual play.

Team Liquid also got very lost during the summer split, which is why I gave them the last place in Group D.
