Paper Rex beat OpTic Gaming 2-1 to advance to the grand final of VALORANT Champions Tour 2022: Stage 2 Masters - Copenhagen. In turn, the North American team fell to the finals of the lower bracket, where they will play with the winner of the FunPlus Phoenix meeting - Fnatic.
The final of the upper bracket of the championship started on the Haven map, which became the choice of the North American team. However, there was no fight here, as Paper Rex immediately seized the initiative on the server and began to rivet round after round. As a result, the team from Southeast Asia dealt with the opponent very quickly and took the lead in the series — 13:3.
Next, the teams moved to the Bind map, which turned out to be the choice of Paper Rex. Now the North Americans had a big advantage, while the representatives of Southeast Asia had to recoup. Nevertheless, OpTic Gaming players managed to keep the advantage in the second half, thanks to which they equalized the score in the series — 13:9.
Everything was decided on the Fracture map, which began with a real disaster for the North American team. After three rounds won in the attack, OpTic Gaming failed to wake up and return to the game. As a result, Paper Rex scored an ordinary victory and made it to the grand final of the championship — 13:5.
Now we are waiting for the semi-final of the upper bracket, in which FunPlus Phoenix and Fnatic will play.
